Taylor Hicks Gets His Rhyme On With Snoop

In a surprising and incredibly odd pairing, Taylor Hicks joined Snoop Dogg onstage Saturday night at the City Stages Festival in Hicks' hometown of Birmingham, Alabama. The 'American Idol' winner and West Coast rapper teamed for a rendition of Snoop's massive hit 'Gin and Juice.'

"I have the greatest respect for Snoop Dogg as an artist, but also as a family man, a businessman and an integral part of pop culture," Hicks told the Birmingham News. "Rap music has the most advanced lyricism there is. Rap is real; there's nothing pretentious about it. I'm very excited about appearing with Snoop. I think it's great."

Hicks was recently named Bachelor of the Year by People magazine, while Snoop Dogg is currently working a new album, 'Blue Carpet Treatment,' featuring guests Janet Jackson, R. Kelly, Timbaland, Stevie Wonder, Pharrell, Jermaine Dupri, Warren G and the Black Eyed Peas' Will.i.am.

Taylor Hicks is a cutie. I am glad he won. His voice reminds me of David Clayton Thomas. I think he has the talent and charisma to go all the way.

Taylor is cool. He seems to kind of melt in to whatever he gets into. He's having a great time being the new idol, I think that's great. It can only happen in America. I Wish you all the luck Taylor rock on man!!!!!!!!!!!!!

wow, i thought Snoop wouldnt steep that low into karaoke performers, like Taylor Hicks. but dont get me wrong im all for rap/pop collabs. (espcl. the Britney/Ying-Yang Twins collab. "I Got That (Boom Boom)", but Taylor isnt even urban. Snoop attracts the young people and Taylor attracts fat, old people. so it just doesnt mix well.

Taylor Hicks is womderful! A great entertainer and can sing anything. He had my vote from day 1. You go, Taylor. SOUL PATROL!!!
And a comment to Tammy. The United States I'm from and love gives Melanie the right to state her opinion even if she disagrees with the President. So take your own advice and if you don't like it, leave!

Oh yea and for those of you not following the news WMDs have been found in Iraq Andrea you must have no clue about economics. Bush inherited a bad economy and since his policies were implemented it has grown as fast as any time since the Reagan era.

Before you make fun of someones spelling learn the English language. "you must don't know", "you wouldn't know anything no way". Thats great English. You need to go back to school too.

Though I do think Chris was a better singer I think Tayler is a great talent as well. He has a true love for music.

Do I believe Bush has handled everything in Iraq perfectly no. I think he is being to easy on the bastards. I do think we will be safer in the long run though since we are fighting and killing them over there. Where would you rather fight the terrorists in Iraq or on American soil. Now if Israel takes care of Hamas and Hezbullah and we can get something done in the International community with Iran and Syria that would be great but if we need to take care of them on our own so be it. They both clearly support terror and that cannot and must not be accepted and we can't allow Iran tp obtain nuclear weapons. May God continue bless America.
