R.I.P. B.I.G.: Reflecting on Biggie's Legacy

Remember when your parents used to -- or in some cases, still do -- tell you that you don't know what good music is? Remember thinking that they were just too old to relate? Well, I think I finally understand what they meant. While today's hip-hop young gunners are cool, there really was no one like the Notorious B.I.G.

In remembrance of the 10th anniversary of his passing, we present R.I.P. B.I.G.: The Life & Rhymes of a Hip-Hop Heavyweight. You can listen to his latest CD 'Greatest Hits' in its entirety, vote on the best DJ remix, take the Lyrics Quiz, and check out All B.I.G. Radio.

Plus, I even gathered some of the people who knew him best to reflect on his legacy. Shouts-out to Jadakiss and Styles P, Mister Cee, and the founders of Allhiphop.com for shedding light on murder conspiracy theories and the infamous beef with 2Pac. (I think Styles P wins the best quote award for saying Biggie "made fat guys want good shirts.") There's even bonus footage from Nas predicting what Frank White would be doing if he were still alive today.

But, the ultimate question for any hip-hop fan worth his or her salt is, which is better - 'Ready to Die' or 'Life After Death'? What do YOU think?

Thought that you all might want to see these photographs of Biggie, DJ50G and others. They were taken during his first "professional photo shoot", when he was 19 years old and just about to break it big.
Enjoy and tell your friends.

It's crazy how he is still talked about after all these years. That really means something. He's really unforgettable.

It's hard to believe that it's been 10 years since B.I.G. left the earth. Fortunately I had the opportunity to meet him on July 20, 1995 in California. My mother is a concert promoter and he headlined a concert on that date. I didn't really think anything of it at the time, but now I'm glad that I had that opportunity. B.I.G. was like no other. He had one of the sickest if not the sickest flow in the history of rap, period! For the last 10 years I've said when Pac and B.I.G. died that was it for rap. Jay-Z held it down for as long as he could, but it's garbage now. You have cats like 50 Cent, Cam'ron, Jim Jones etc. reppin' New York. I know B.I.G. rolls over in his grave everytime he hears some new N.Y. artist messin' up somethin' that he had put together so tight. I have 5 favorite albums of all-time and 'Ready To Die' and 'Life After Death' or 2 of them. I know B.I.G. got popped out here in L.A. but that was a personal thing. We got love for Big Poppa out here no doubt. 2Pac is my favorite rapper of all time (gotta rep Cali), but B.I.G. definitely had the illest flow of all time. Biggie Smalls was the illest!!! R.I.P. The Notorious One

What legacy??? This overweight slob had no talent that I can see. His rap is garbage as is 99% of it anyway The only good rap "artist?" is a dead one. I find it appalling to call these cretens artists.
