Sean Kingston scored a No. 1 hit this summer with 'Beautiful Girls,' and the young star isn't stopping there. Kingston will star in the movie biopics of slain rapper Notorious B.I.G. The film will be produced by the rapper's long-time friend and producer Sean 'Diddy' Combs.
Kingston auditioned for the role after learning of the movie through his management team. He previously mentioned that he "nailed" the audition, and the director agreed.
Voletta Wallace, Biggie's mother, and two of the late rapper's managers, Wayne Barrow and Mark Pitts, all played a role in casting for the upcoming project for the role. Actor/director Forrest Whitaker was in the running for the lead role, as well as several unknown actors. Those interested can watch the casting tapes at Fox Searchlight.
The currently untitled film is set to be released in 2009.
