According to a Jamaican judge, reggae artist Beenie Man is in hot water. Judge Owen Parkins issued an arrest warrant when the self-proclaimed 'King of the Dancehall' failed to appear in court on tax evasion charges Tuesday.
Beenie Man, born Anthony Moses Davis, reportedly owes $600,000 in back taxes and penalties. Davis, who's failed to pay taxes for the last 10 years, is pointing the finger at his former management and claims he had no knowledge of the debt.
Judge Parkins doesn't seem to be impressed with Davis' celebrity. "This case is well publicized and he should have been in court. No one is above the law," Parkins said before issuing the warrant.
