Suspect Charged With Vandalizing Tupac Statue

Dekalb County police have charged 43-year-old Kenneth Anthony Wilson for the vandalism of a statue at the Tupac Amaru Shakur Center for the Arts on October 20 in Atlanta. Wilson is accused of placing a noose around the neck of the bronze statue of the slain rapper.

The incident was initially being treated as a hate crime, but authorities now believe there was no racial motivation. Wilson was charged with second-degree criminal damage to property and is being held in jail on $1,500 bond.

I Truely Agree With JC On This One, What Part Of A Noose Around A Neck Doesn't Scream Reacism? Speaking As A White Male, I Personally Am Offended By Such Stupid Acts. If The Judge Doesn't Put Some Time On That Then America Honestly Stands For Not One Damn Thing And I Hope That Whatever Other Country We Fight, Happens To Kick Our Ass Because If You Are To Blind To See Some Stupid Shit Like That, Then We Honestly Need Somebody Else To Run Our Country

I just want to know why in the year 2007 we still have this type of stupidity? I am very angry that this and other events are still prevelant to not only blacks but to other races as well. I also want to say that if we as a people (blacks) continue to allow the "n" word to flow out of children's mouth we can continue to get this type of action from people like Kenneth Anthony Wilson. We have allowed that word to be used as a greeting or a title for our family members and friends. Each time this word is spewed out of OUR mouths we negate the thousands if not millions of ancestors that have died behind this word, mentally, spiritually and physically.

I just want to know what part of a "noose around the neck" of this statue of a black man doesn't speak volumes of racism......oh please.....stop trying to play down this ignorant mans actions. If he would have simply defaced this statue by placing graffitti on it, painting Grouch Marx face on it, etc., I would have been right there with you (those who now believe it wasn't a hate crime but a noose SCREAMS RACISM. What did Kenneth Anthony Wilson do, cry a tear of remorse? Did he state that he didn't mean anything by it? I bet if you look through his wallet REAL good you will find a promise note to hook up with the KKK.....WAKE UP AMERICA AND STOP MAKING EXCUSES FOR THESE A-HOLES!!!!!

How sad that people like this live on our earth. With all the hate the has been in the South people like Kenneth Anthony Wilson will never allow the old wounds to heal. The back hills attitude against blacks is just that. I am just thankful that we are all not judge by the actions of people like Wilson. Wake up it's 2007!
