Judge Postpones Prodigy's Jail Sentence

A New York judge is giving Mobb Deep's Prodigy a big break. After requesting the rapper's medical records, judge Edward McLaughlin postponed Prodigy's jail sentence. Prodigy, whose real name is Albert Johnson, plead guilty to weapons possession charges and was sentenced to 3 1/2 years in prison in October 2007.

McLaughlin decided to give Johnson 30 more days of freedom while the court compiles and reviews medical records. Johnson's attorneys are requesting that the court acknowledge that the 33-year-old has long suffered from sickle cell anemia, which results in frequent hospitalization. In the meantime, Johnson plans on releasing 'H.N.I.C in Charge 2' this March.
