The Game Gets Early Release From Prison

After serving just eight days in prison, the Game has been released from Los Angeles' Twin Towers Correctional Facility, according to TMZ. The platinum-selling rapper was due to serve a 60-day sentence for a felony charge of possession of a firearm in a school zone.

The Game, whose real name is Jayceon Taylor, pleaded no contest to the felony weapons charge last month, and was sentenced to 60 days in jail, three years probation and 150 hours of community service. Taylor began serving his prison sentence on March 2.

The rap star was accused of pointing a gun at another player during a basketball game at the Rita Walters Educational Learning Complex in South Los Angeles last year.

In other Game news, the West Coast rap star and Common will hit the big screen together this spring in the Keanu Reeves police drama, 'Street Kings,' which was originally titled 'The Night Watchman,' due in theaters April 11.
