A DMX concert at Indiana University's Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity house ended in a small riot Wednesday when the performance was cut short after just three songs. According to the Indiana Daily Student, the show, which was scheduled to begin at 8:30 p.m. and run for exactly an hour, was delayed because the rapper was late. X didn't take the stage until 9:30 p.m., by that time campus police were already preparing to shut the function down. Campus police, Bloomington, Indiana police and state officers were eventually called to the scene. Witnesses claim the officials sprayed mace into the agitated crowd, causing further melee.
"I did chat with the campus police, who said that it was not them who disbursed the crowd using pepper spray," University spokesman Larry MacIntyre told Billboard. "It was a private security firm. Our campus police would not have handled it in that manner."
