Jay-Z Sets Up Educational Trust Fund for Sean Bell's Children

Hip hop mogul Jay-Z has reportedly established an educational trust fund for the children of Sean Bell, who was gunned down by three New York police detectives just hours before his wedding. According to reports, the rap star and Bell's fiance Nicole Bell have been working together to iron out the details of the charitable fund.

Last week, a New York judge acquitted the detectives who fired the 50 shots that took Bell's life. Rappers the Game, Papoose and Joell Ortiz recorded songs to express their discontent with the shocking verdict. Jay-Z has not released a statement regarding the verdict or trust fund.

it's cool as hell for jay z to step up n for all those that was puttin words in they songs but damn the p-man will get this some way some how g-unit hit is off the hook too

This is such an awe inspiring gesture on Jay-Z's part. This is when we as a people need to step up to the plate and right a wrong in an extraordinary way. May Sean Bell rest in peace, and may his family be surrounded by the love of God, friends and family.

This is what real men do, they see a need and they take care of it. Talking and posturing is not nessecary. This is the sort of thing that sets Jay-Z apart from those who want to us to believe that they are all about community. This was what Nike was trying to capture in thier "JUST DO IT" ads. Jay-z, you are the one. May GOD surround you with his light. Thank you for this shining example and for the oh so smooth, and quiet style. I'm lovin' it.
