Nas Drops Controversial Album Title

After much controversy, Queensbridge emcee Nas has changed the original title of his album. The project, which was entitled [insert N-word], will be untitled when it hits stores on July 1.

"It's important to me that this album gets to the fans. It's been a long time coming. I want my fans to know that, creatively and lyrically, they can expect the same content and the same messages. It's that important," Nas said in a statement. "The streets have been waiting for this for a long time. The people will always know what the real title of this album is and what to call it."

"It's like talking to your child about sex. It's hard, but it's important," the rapper said in an October interview. "It's probably going to make people uncomfortable. I don't expect a lot of people to sell a record called [N-word]. Hopefully, people can open their minds up and lose some of their fear and deal with it. It's just an album. It's one piece of the many things I do, and this will be one of my favorite pieces."

Nas I personally am a huge fan of your music, but the "Dropped' title of your album is DEMEANING. As a black man you know about the negative connotations it holds. To put out an album with millions of fans around the WORLD and knowing millions more will view it in corporate stores like Best Buy is The Dumbest Thing I've Ever heard.

Now an Artist i also appreciate, Sekou Metaphyz, who is coming out of Brooklyn; shows the potential of adding a different component of Hip Hop;Versatility. He Spits about his struggles, astrology, sex, women, and politics. Hip Hop has lost its soul and ability to talk about everything around them.

Nas. you're an idiot. As old as you are, and you still dont know the game. You are just another sell out whether you keep the titl or not...and you're a sell out in everything you do.

I wish people could open their minds up and not be so gravely offended by words.

I don't mind an album called that. I understand that a lot of parents aren't going to want their children seeing the word in their local Best Buy, but it takes away some of the connotation associated with the word. And until that is destroyed then it will always be a word that is used as a weapon.
