Former Death Row Records affiliate Warren G was arrested early Sunday morning when police pulled over the rapper/producer's associate Ryan Butler's vehicle and discovered marijuana in the car. The 35-year-old rapper, whose real name is Warren Griffin III, and Butler were stopped by the police after running a red light at 2AM in Hollywood. Griffin and Butler were charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell. The rapper and driver of the vehicle posted $20,000 bail and were released later that morning.

Warren G has since addressed his recent arrest. "I was a passenger, I wasn't driving," Griffin said in an interview. "And we didn't run a red light. We just happened to be in a long line of traffic on Hollywood Boulevard and got caught in the intersection. The whole thing was bogus." G goes on to claim that reports that he was caught with a large amount of marijuana is also false. "From what I'm hearing, what they said at the police station, it wasn't even an ounce," the rapper said. "They basically was just f---ing with me because I'm Warren G. and they just wanted to get the publicity for arresting me."
