Missy Elliott is putting the finishing touches on her much-delayed upcoming album dubbed 'Block Party. "It's one of those albums you can play out in the streets," Elliott said in a recent interview when explaining the inspiration for the album's title. The colorful femcee, known for raising the bar with her innovative/quirky music videos, is offering up a slightly different sound on her forthcoming project. "This album is probably more musical and melodic than my previous ones," Elliott said. "A lot of my albums are really hip-hop-driven, with tinges of other music genres. But this album is hip-hop, with a sort of U.K. hip-hop sound to it."
One thing's for sure, Elliott's fans can look forward to production from her longtime friend Timbaland. Pharrell Williams, T-Pain and Danjahandz also lent a hand to the rapper's upcoming album. 'Block Party' is due in August.

HEY, IT'S ABOUT TIME. I'M HER BIGGEST FAN PLUS I'M FROM HER HOME STATE OF VIRGINIA, ALONG WITH TIMBALAND, I HEARD BITS AND PIECES OF " THE COOKBOOK" IT HAD A FEW GOOD SONGS ON IT THAT NEVER GOT ANY AIRPLAY BUT THIS IS THE NATURE OF THE BUSINESS. I'M GLAD THAT MISSY IS GETTING BACK ON THE SCENE BECAUSE HIP HOP NEEDS GOOD FEMCEES LIKE HER MCLYTE, QUEEN LATIFAH,.
