Missy Elliott is putting the finishing touches on her much-delayed upcoming album dubbed 'Block Party. "It's one of those albums you can play out in the streets," Elliott said in a recent interview when explaining the inspiration for the album's title. The colorful femcee, known for raising the bar with her innovative/quirky music videos, is offering up a slightly different sound on her forthcoming project. "This album is probably more musical and melodic than my previous ones," Elliott said. "A lot of my albums are really hip-hop-driven, with tinges of other music genres. But this album is hip-hop, with a sort of U.K. hip-hop sound to it."
One thing's for sure, Elliott's fans can look forward to production from her longtime friend Timbaland. Pharrell Williams, T-Pain and Danjahandz also lent a hand to the rapper's upcoming album. 'Block Party' is due in August.
