"The city [is] like maybe 20 miles wide, so it's really not too much going on there" 2 Pistols tells the BoomBox of his hometown of Tarpon Springs, Florida, while hanging in our studio during an exclusive 16 Bars freestyle segment. The newcomer was a high school football star before tossing the Florida bay area on his back and making sure he was in the right place at the right time. "I was making my transition from the streets doing music, and I used to promote concerts. So, I would bring Rick Ross, T-Pain, Plies -- whoever was hot in the streets I would bring them to a show. I met T-Pain at a radio event called 'Wild Splash,' and I had this guy throw his pass over the gate in order for me to get back stage to holla at him. It was crazy," Pistols explains. "I got to go backstage and talk to him. I was like 'yo, I also got records to other music and if you want to get together and do a track ... it's cool.' I sent him the record over. He liked the record, so he did the record or whatever just outta love and I mean, the rest is history pretty much with that."
History indeed. The emcee, who's debut 'Death Before Dishonor' hits stores today, stomped into our studio, dropped 16 Bars and discussed his transition from football star to rap star. 'Death Before Dishonor' boasts guest appearances by T-Pain, Young Jeezy, Ray J and Trey Songz.
