50 Cent went toe-to-toe with ex-girlfriend Shaniqua Tompkins in a Long Island courtroom Thursday in an effort to spend time with his 11-year-old son. The rap star and Tompkins have been in a heated custody battle that began in April when the rapper requested that Tompkins and their son be removed from his Long Island, New York, home. 50 claimed Tompkins was given enough time and financial support to find another residence. The custody battle took a strange turn when the Long Island home was destroyed in what is being called a "suspicious" fire in May. In recent weeks, the 33-year-old rapper has been vocal about his desire to see his son. "This is the toughest [thing I've had to face], because he's my motivation," 50 said in an interview. Family court judge David Freundlich granted 50 an unrestricted weeklong visit with his son Marquise in August, and added that the rapper's request was "more than reasonable."
