Obama Rejects Ludacris Endorsement Song

A number of actors and musicians have thrown their support behind presidential hopeful Barack Obama, but Ludacris' 'Politics: Obama is Here' has caused a bit of a stir and is being publicly rejected by the senator's campaign.

The rapper blasts Obama's former opponent Sen. Hilary Clinton on the endorsement track, calling Clinton a "b----." Ludacris goes on to slam Republican presidential candidate John McCain, Rev. Jesse Jackson and President George W. Bush. Obama's campaign team released a statement condemning the track, which appears on the 'Gangsta Grillz: The Preview' mixtape, hosted by DJ Drama.

"As Barack Obama has said many, many times in the past, rap lyrics today too often perpetuate misogyny, materialism, and degrading images that he doesn't want his daughters or any children exposed to," campaign spokesman Bill Burton said in an e-mail statement Wednesday. "This song is not only outrageously offensive to Sen. Clinton, Rev. Jackson, Sen. McCain and President Bush, it is offensive to all of us who are trying to raise our children with the values we hold dear. While Ludacris is a talented individual he should be ashamed of these lyrics."

The WomenCount organization has also expressed outrage at Ludacris' harsh lyrics. "It is another example of hateful, sexist language being used on the campaign trail, and now is our moment to make it clear: not on our watch!" WomenCount's Communication Director Rosemary Camposano said in a statement.

Ludacris' camp has yet to address the recent backlash.

Damn people it's a mixtape! the only people who hear shit off a mixtape anyways are the ones who go lookin for it, meaning people who listen to luda already, its not bein released on his album(well maybe now it will) and its not on the radio, if it hadn't been reported only luda fans would know of the song anyway! btw, i'm pretty sure i've heard hillary bein called a bitch on SNL, wheres the outrage? oh thats right, its offensive when it comes from a rapper but not from white comedians

Wow, personally I do not think any of the candidates running are qualified enough to be our president, no matter how old they are or what war they served in. I also think that although everyone is entitled to an opinion (including Luda with his song), the majority of the posts on this message board show the true ignorance of many people in our society...and these are the people who are going to vote for our next president. It is no wonder we have such a scary decision to make on election day.

Everybodys gonna feel a different way. But I agree with JazzyFlowersx4 for the most part. But of course, the song will get a radio edit to make it clean, whats the big deal? And as for ksilverhardt, nobody is playing the race card. Make of it what you want, Obama is just the BEST candidate. But hey, fame comes with haters... Blake3887 is off the topic. And cmon, Bobth3monkey, McCain is another Bush!!! I got my pin, BARACK OBAMA 2008!!! As long as nothing is rigged, the best candidate (Obama) is going to win.

GO BARACK OBAMA!!!
