'Resurrection,' by Common Sense
The saying goes: "Hunger is the best seasoning." And the Chicago MC cooked up a meal so savory in 'Resurrection,' we couldn't help but ask for the recipe. Never one to half-step, Common brought a lyrical fury few thought the Midwest could produce. Tracks like the immortal 'I Used to Love H.E.R.' showed a talent for writing few could match as he turned his love for hip-hop into a metaphor so involved he felt an obligation to let us in on the secret in the song's final line.
