It's definitely Wayne's World! The rapper snagged a whopping 12 BET Hip-Hop Award nominations, confirming that 2008 belonged to Weezy. Lil Wayne received a nod for Best Video ("Lollipop") and was recognized in the Lyricist of the Year and MVP of the Year categories, among other nods. After scoring the best-selling album of the year with his 'Tha Carter III' album and appearing/performing on almost every award show in 2008, it 's no surprise the rapper is being recognized in such a big way by the network. Kanye West received seven nominations and Jay-Z grabbed six, including Track of the Year for 'Roc Boys (And the Winner is)', Best Live Performer and Hustler of the Year. T.I., who was arrested near a Walgreens parking lot just hours before last year's award show, received three nods. BET will also recognize mogul and Def Jam Records founder Russell Simmons with the "I Am Hip-Hop" award. The show will be hosted by comedian Katt Williams and is set to air on October 23.
