Jay-Z Disappoints Fans, Cancels Third Voter Registration Concert

Fans in Miami were disappointed yesterday when Jay-Z didn't perform at his scheduled concert due to throat problems. The concert was the second Miami date on a free tour promoting voter registration and presidential candidate Barack Obama. The concert was to be held on the October 6 deadline to register vote to in the state of Florida.

Thousand of fans waited at the Bayfront Park Amphitheater before finally being told that the rapper would not be making an appearance. Performers Wyclef Jean and Rick Ross were also on the bill, but when Jay couldn't hit the stage, the entire event was scrapped.

Jay-Z and Wyclef Jean completed their first performance this past weekend in Miami in support of Sen. Obama on Sunday. No word yet from Jay-Z's camp regarding plan to reschedule the concert.

It certainly is a pity that this voter registration even had to be cancelled due to circumstances beyond JZ's control. However, we must "presa On" and get out there and vote for the team you think is best equipped to take the country forward. I also commend JZ, P Diddy and all the others who are using theri "Star Power" to encourage voting. It's a precious thing
