T.I. Says He's 'Anxious' to Go to Prison

It was a year to the day that Grammy Award-winning rapper T.I. was scheduled to appear at the 2007 BET hip-hop awards in Atlanta. Instead of making a calm and cool acceptance speech and performing a medley of hits off his fifth album 'T.I. vs. T.I.P.,' the rap star was arrested in a Walgreens parking lot for attempting to buy a slew of machine guns and silencers.

T.I., whose real name is Clifford Harris Jr., pleaded guilty to illegal weapons possession and was sentenced to seven months of house arrest, 1,500 hours of community service and one year in jail. Tip is set to begin serving his one-year sentence in March.

Now, a year later, he explains how he's not scared, but instead "concerned" and "anxious" to get it all over with. "Sooner I get started, sooner I get finished," T.I. said in a recent interview with CNN.

The rapper goes on to discuss how he's grateful for his plea agreement that's allowed him to serve the minimum sentence despite his prior run-ins with the law. "I have a lot of people to make proud," T.I. admitted. "Even the government -- the people in the government who stood up for my conditions to be the way they are, rather than the way a lot of people wanted them to be. The last thing I want to do is let them down."

In other T.I. news, the rapper released his sixth studio album on September 30. The album features the inspirational track 'No Matter What,' ode to the ladies 'Whatever You Like,' 'Live Your Life,' featuring pop diva Rihanna, and radio favorite 'Swagga Like Us.' 'Live Your Life' broke the record for biggest leap to number one when it shot from number eighty to number one on the Billboard Hot 100, giving T.I. his second Hot 100 number one single.
