It was a year to the day that Grammy Award-winning rapper T.I. was scheduled to appear at the 2007 BET hip-hop awards in Atlanta. Instead of making a calm and cool acceptance speech and performing a medley of hits off his fifth album 'T.I. vs. T.I.P.,' the rap star was arrested in a Walgreens parking lot for attempting to buy a slew of machine guns and silencers. T.I., whose real name is Clifford Harris Jr., pleaded guilty to illegal weapons possession and was sentenced to seven months of house arrest, 1,500 hours of community service and one year in jail. Tip is set to begin serving his one-year sentence in March.
Now, a year later, he explains how he's not scared, but instead "concerned" and "anxious" to get it all over with. "Sooner I get started, sooner I get finished," T.I. said in a recent interview with CNN.
The rapper goes on to discuss how he's grateful for his plea agreement that's allowed him to serve the minimum sentence despite his prior run-ins with the law. "I have a lot of people to make proud," T.I. admitted. "Even the government -- the people in the government who stood up for my conditions to be the way they are, rather than the way a lot of people wanted them to be. The last thing I want to do is let them down."
In other T.I. news, the rapper released his sixth studio album on September 30. The album features the inspirational track 'No Matter What,' ode to the ladies 'Whatever You Like,' 'Live Your Life,' featuring pop diva Rihanna, and radio favorite 'Swagga Like Us.' 'Live Your Life' broke the record for biggest leap to number one when it shot from number eighty to number one on the Billboard Hot 100, giving T.I. his second Hot 100 number one single.

and what the hell was he going to do with machine guns and silencers? Lock his ass up for good before some innocent person becomes a victim of his crimes.

I guess you are all for locking up all the white folks with similiar type guns and weapons that are more dangerous.Or do you think just so called thugs own these guns.I gaurantee these thugs are at a disadvantage compared to the NRA nuts.

listen to the song, "Ready for Whatever" on his new album, and he explains why he bought the guns.

You all need to leave T.I alone. I trully believe that he is a good man that was just trying to protect himself. If you all lived his life and walked in his shoes you might've done the same thing. He knows what he did was wrong and he has accepted his punishment. He has a family to take care of and I truly believe that he has learned his lesson. He's not a gang banger or a thug he's trying to do right and take care of his. I support him 100%. And yall need to leave him alone.

What the?!?!... and now hes talking in front of kids??? If I was a parent to one of those children Id be infuriated with whom ever thought that was a good idea. My child would not be returning to that school. If they arent smart enough to prevent that from happening what else are they allowing people to do to my child.

...One has but to understand Mr. T.I's frame of mind when he attempted this gun transaction....obviously, he was lashing out in pain at the loss of his friend.....I believe, at that particular moment, the only thought was revenge---eye-for-an-eye, if you will. I felt his pain....and why were they (he and his entourage) fired on in the first place? T.I.'s reaction, while not legally sensible, was morally correct....such is life, for some.
I feel you T.I...life is a struggle...you have to roll with it to get through it...I understand....others obviously do not.

It is not a black thing. All blacks don't buy guys and "LIVE the THUG LIFE".But I am glad that he is being punished and that his punishment is being made public so that young kids that look up to him know that living this way isn't as glamourous as they thought.Stop stereotyping people TESE42s.
