Ne-Yo may be in the news about "beefs" with other artists, or trouble with R. Kelly but one thing is for sure: he still takes care of business. The singer/producer will star in and executive produce the film Venice Beach. The film will find Ne-Yo playing, of all things, a musician who is in love with an 18-year-old girl from the neighboring city of Manhattan Beach, California. The two work together to achieve their musical dreams despite the disapproval of their family and friends.
Duane Adler, who worked with Ne-Yo on the film 'Save the Last Dance 2' will write the script while Ne-Yo will score the movie's soundtrack. This film marks the first starring roll for the singer who has been in two films; one of which was last year's 'Stomp the Yard.'
Well known for his writing skills, Ne-Yo has worked with the likes of Rihanna, Usher and Whitney Houston.
