Our favorite and most famous Barack Obama supporters gathered in North Philadelphia for the massive 'Promote the Vote' block party on Monday. Diddy, Jay-Z, along with wife, R&B diva Beyonce, Mary J. Blige and Russell Simmons attended the rally to encourage all those in attendance to get out and vote in today's election. "We have a responsibility to ourselves, our children and our country and our new leader, but we have to go out and vote to make the difference," Mary J. Blige said during the rally. According to Philadelphia officials, approximately 4,500 people attended the packed rally that shut down the city's popular North Broad Street.
Presidential hopeful Barack Obama and vice presidential candidate Joe Biden spent Monday campaigning to undecided voters in Pennsylvania and North Carolina. Sen. Biden, a native of Scranton, PA., held a rally in South Philly while Obama attended a rally in Charlotte, N.C. The Illinois Senator took some time to remember his grandmother, Madelyn Dunham, who lost her battle with cancer Monday in Hawaii. "She has gone home and she died peacefully in her sleep with my sister at her side," Obama said during his speech at the rally in Charlotte.
