Mos Def Flips Out on Photog, Arrest Warrant Issued

An arrest warrant has been issued for rapper/actor Mos Def. According to reports the warrant issued yesterday by the Las Vegas Police Department stems from an alleged altercation between Mos and a photographer at the Magic apparel tradeshow in August.

Volker Correl, who was working at the event as an official photographer, filed a claim alleging Mos ripped his camera away from him before throwing it to the ground. Correl also says that he received cuts on his hand because of the confrontation.

Although Mos attended the bi-annual event frequented by several celebrities, he has not made a public statement about the allegations. He faces felony robbery and malicious destruction of property charges.

In his latest film project, 'Cadillac Records', he plays performer Chuck Berry alongside Beyonce, who plays legendary singer Etta James. The film opens December 5 while his next album 'Ecstatic' is slated for a February 2009 release.
