Former co-founder of Rocafella Records and Rocawear clothing line, Damon Dash, has been hit with several multi-million dollar lawsuits. The once-heralded music mogul, Keds owner, and vodka distributor faced seizers of both his trendy Tribeca condos and a Chevy Tahoe. The $7.3 million dollar condos were foreclosed by Eastern Savings Bank for a non-payment of $78,504 over the course of several months. The bleeding doesn't stop there. Dash, 37, is also staring down a $2.1 million dollar tab from the NY State Department of Taxation and Finance, a $4,500 bill from the state for not paying workers' compensation and another lawsuit claiming he still owes a debt to the law firm that handled his child custody case.
Dash has not publicly responded to these claims, but his spokesperson Amanda Silverman claims the former-mogul "won all of his lawsuits." Court documents paint another picture. The courts show Dash settled two suits accusing him of not paying rent on two New York offices, as well as suits charging he owed large sums to fashion designer Charlotte Ronson, popular fashion firm Showroom Seven and a celebrity security guard company.
Jason Gabbard, a lawyer representing Showroom Seven, recently settled a lawsuit against Dash and his wife for over $148,505 in unpaid fees. "I've worked with musicians, artists and entertainers that in the eyes of the media are very wealthy," Gabbard said. "But to borrow a phrase from my Kentucky homeland, they haven't got a pot to p--- in - they're broke."
