Kanye West to Put Music Career on Hold to Intern?

The words "humility" and "Kanye West" rarely appear in the same sentence but it looks like the Chi-town rapper/producer might be willing to step down from his throne to learn the ins and outs of the fashion industry.

According to the New York Times, West plans on taking time away from his music career to intern at a fashion house. West, who's been a fixture in the front row of shows across the globe, hopes to intern for Louis Vuitton or Belgian designer Raf Simons.

"I was blown away from the planet when he told me," Simons said in an interview. "I know he's very serious about this -- I don't take it as a joke - but how can I imagine him being my intern? It's a very extreme situation."

"I want to and will be the real thing," West wrote on his blog. "I will not just be a 'celebrity designer." The hip-hop star definitely has one-up on most fashion interns. West is currently working on his Past Tell (formerly Pastelle) collection and will launch a jewelry line with Japanese artist Takashi Murakami in 2009.

What nuthouse are you from? You need a better shrink if you want something like this for a doctor or even think he could be one.

I was hoping he was going to do some charity work or intern as a community organizer...
He does a fantastic show-saw him at Lollapalooza-I'm a 52 y/o white chick-
He has a compassionate side so building off that instead of the "diva" persona would be a nice breath of fresh air for such a high profile person.

I like Kanye better as a designer than a rap star. I think desingning is closer to his true personality.
