The law seems to be on former label head Suge Knight's side as the assault and battery charges stemming from an altercation with his girlfriend last summer were dropped. According to reports, Knight's attorneys, David Chessnoff and Richard Schonfeld, got the charges tossed due to lack of witnesses. Although the judge said that the case could continue without witnesses, prosecutors dismissed proceedings all together.
"God is good," Suge told TMZ.com. "I've got the two best lawyers in . Happy holidays."
Prosecutors have decided to take the case to a grand jury for review but Chessnoff is confident in the possible outcome. "The grand jury will consider favorable evidence in regard to Mr. Knight, and we look forward to it," he said.
In August, Knight and his girlfriend Melissa Isaac were involved in an altercation on a drive to Vegas. Isaac alleged that Knight punched her in the back of the head resulting in his sub sequential arrest.
Knight has made headlines this past year for his legal troubles. Among them was the sale of his former company, Death Row Records.
