Mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs snagged a Golden Globe nomination for the television mini-series 'A Raisin in the Sun,' which he starred in and executive produced. Adapted from the play written by Lorraine Hansbury, 'A Raisin in the Sun' received a Best Mini Series or Motion Picture Made for Television nomination. "I really did not think it could get any better," Diddy said in a statement. "First, an Emmy nomination and now a Golden Globe, this is an incredible honor. A dream come true."
The film received positive reviews upon its premiere in February of this year. Diddy also received favorable reviews for his portrayal of the troubled main character Walter Lee Younger. Set in the 1950's 'A Raisin in the Sun' chronicles the lives of a black family living on the Chicago's South Side as they struggle through poverty and racism. The television version was directed by Kenny Leon and also featured Sanaa Lathan and Phylicia Rashad.
The 66th annual Golden Globes will air Jan. 11, 2009.
