It looks like it is the end of the road for 50 Cent's reality show as MTV has given it the axe after airing for just over one month. 'The Money and the Power,' which debuted November 6, failed to perform well in the ratings race.According to Brian Gradenthe, MTV's Entertainment President, the network is looking for programming to further appeal to the 20-something generation. "Generation 'Why Not?' -- living, working and playing on their own terms, 'adventure capitalists' if you will, pursuing a variety of thrill-seeking, 2.0, express-yourself enterprises," he said.
Among the list of new shows will be the 'Daddy's Girls,' the spin-off to the popular 'Run's House.' The new programming marks a directional shift for the network once known for its music video-based shows like 'Total Request Live,' which was also recently canceled.
50 has given no public comment regarding the network's decision. His new album 'Before I Self Destruct' is due in stores next month.
