Coroner Confirms Dr. Dre's Son Died of Heroin Overdose

Los Angeles Country coroners have confirmed that the death of Dr. Dre's son, Andre Young Jr., was the result of an accidental heroin and morphine overdose.

"Andre Young Jr.'s death has been ruled as an accident due to morphine and heroin intoxication," media officer Ed Winter told one publication.

The 20-year-old was found in the bedroom of their Woodland Hills, CA, home by his mother, Jenita Porter, on the morning of August 23.

Porter told police that her son had come home at around 5:30 a.m., after having spent the night out with friends, but that she heard him snoring in his bedroom upon his return. Later in the morning, Porter discovered that Young was unconscious, so she called paramedics, who attempted to revive him, to no avail. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Dr. Dre has yet to release an official statement since the news of his son's cause of death was revealed.

Oh wow. Dr. Dre's son dieing of a drug overdose. Such a shocker. It's like finding out Santa Claus isn't real.

I'm not going to pretend to even show compassion for a person I never met or even saw, whose father was an advocate of drug use, when he died from his own stupid mistakes.

Just because he's famous doesn't mean his life is any more important then the rest of us.

Also to the idiot that said it's the children not the parent: Children are incredibly impressionable especially by their parents. A parent's actions will always be reflected by their children either by mimicking it or accepting it as the norm. Even then it is your responsibility to help your child out when he has a substance abuse problem. It's called Rehab and giving a damn.

Nikki,

By no means did I represent that this was a black thing. The issue happens to be over a black rapper that regardless has influenced his family and son. I also am not condeming the BLACK MAN for trying to make something of his life. I do believe there are plenty of other black men making a living without rapping about the lifestyle!!!! As for being an asshole that is jealous I believe you are the one with some issues!

IN FACT BLAME YOUR ANCESTORS FOR SO MANY BLACKS BEING RACIST, WERE ANY OF YOUR PEOPLE SLAVES? HAVE TO SIT AT THE BACK OF THE BUS? DRINK OUT OF A SEPARATE DRINKING FOUNTAIN? ETC.,ETC,ETC. BY THE WAY WHO STARTED THE KKK? ALL I WAS DOING WAS WONDERING WHY SOME MANY PEOPLE THAT HATE RAP READ AND COMMENT ABOUT IT. IT'S MUSIC SOME PEOPLE WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND JUST LIKE THERE IS CERTAIN TYPES OF MUSIC I DON'T UNDERSTAND THAT'S WHY I DON'T READ AND COMMENT ABOUT IT. YOU WENT DOWN A TOTALLY DIFFERENT ROAD AND REALLY DON'T MAKE ANY SENSE!

OH MY GOSH!!!!
Some of you people just don't have a clue do you? Dr. Dre being a rapper had nothing to do with his sons overdose. Anyone who remembers when they were 20 remembers that nobody can tell you anything and you are going to do what you want to do. Parents raise their children the best they know how and what they do with their lives is up to them. If you people read anything about Dr.Dre you would know that he is a good husband and father. Just because Dr.Dre's life used to be portrayed as Gangsta and lived his earlier years in that life style, I am sure that he changed and slowed down for his childrens sake. Judgement is a cruel thing my heart goes out to Dr.Dre and his family at this time. God Bless Them and God Bless all you narrow minded people. WAKE UP!!!!
