Q-Tip has been cast to appear in an upcoming Indie film entitled 'Holy Rollers.' The flick tells the story of a young Hasidic Jew, played by Jesse Eisenberg (of 'The Village' and 'Squid and the Whale'), who is lured into moving large quantities of ecstasy by an Israeli drug kingpin. According to the film's synopsis, the character-driven drama "is inspired by actual events in the 1990's, when Hasidim were recruited as mules to smuggle drugs into the United States."
Tip, who plays an Ethiopian drug dealer began his film career in 1993 with John Singleton's 'Poetic Justice.' 'Holy Rollers' will be directed by Kevin Tyler Asch, and also stars Danny A. Abeckaser and Stella Keitel (daughter of actor/producer Harvey Keitel).
