Rapper King Tut was arrested yesterday on drug charges after authorities found cocaine stuffed in a teddy bear in his car. Tut, who is affiliated with the popular Dipset crew, and his promoter were pulled over by police in Fort Lee, N.J. Tut, whose legal name is Darnell A. Brittingham, and his promoter Brandon Buckley were stopped at 9:30pm Wednesday night. According to Capt. Joseph Zevitz, Tut was driving a 1995 Toyota Solara and was pulled over by Officer Dennis Pathos for tailgating and illegally tinted windows.
Pathos smelled marijuana prompting him to further search the vehicle. Bags of marijuana, a half ounce of cocaine, a digital scale and small bags were all found in the car.
Both men were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia plus manufacturing/distribution and intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance. Tut, was also issued citations for tailgating and tinted windows.
The men were taken to Bergen County Jail. Tut is being held on $25,000 bail while Buckley is being held on $15,000 bail.
