Camp Lo's Sonny Cheeba in Car Accident

Camp Lo rapper Sonny Cheeba was in a serious car accident in Charlotte, North Carolina, this past weekend.

Cheeba was en route to a sound check in preparation for a performance at the Buckhead Saloon, when he got into the collision, which totaled his Dodge Charger. Both Cheeba and rapper Herron, who is featured on Camp Lo's forthcoming album, were immediately rushed to a local hospital.

"Camp Lo's midnight performance started as scheduled, with Geechi Suede who arrived at the venue without knowledge of his partner Cheeba's accident, doing 'Swing' solo." the group said in a statement, following the accident.

"The crowd who was later informed of the accident was amazed when Sonny Cheeba appeared on stage mid-set to join Suede for 'Black Nostaljack' and 'Luchini', which both tore the roof off of the packed Buckhead Saloon. Rapper Herron appeared on stage as well and was not injured in the accident."

Camp Lo's new album, 'Stone & Rob: Caught on Tape' hits stores March 24.

Oh I get it now.. I'm a little slow, LOL.

If AOL headlines this story "Musician gets shot"- you click on it.

If AOL headlines this story "Rapper gets shot"---um... isn't that what is supposed to happen? It's no news, just business as usual.

Matt says,
"he raps, therefore, he is a musician"

LOL. Ask this rapper what a I-IV-V progression is.(kindergarten music theory btw).

Looks like Matt has no clue on what it takes to be a true musician, you know, years of practice and study to the mastery of the theory, pedagogy and tonal mastery of a musical instrument?

I guess this is what is American "culture" has become these days. Don't they say countries fall about as fast as their culture does?

I so sick and tired of AOL readers and their racist comments. I'm all for freedom of speech. But it just seems like you people sit behind your computers all day and let out your racist frustrations. Why not go outside and do it in public? Rapping is a musical art form just like jazz, rock, country, etc..So AOL calling him a musician not only true but it is great marketing. You were probably like "Oh no I hope [fill in with whatever artists racist people listen to] is ok." Then you find out it's a black person you never heard of and you're mad. So now you're mad and you're a racist. That's a bad combo which can lead to a dumb comment being posted. Any racist commenters after this post should realize that life is too short for you to go out of your way to say stupid things is really uncalled for.

this is the second time I clicked on a story about a musician and it turned out to be about a rapper. Please stop the false advertising - if it is a rapper, say so.

Yea..I get it. Maybe they should not use the term musician for them. But I have read almost all of these and see not one form of sympathy or a wish of prayer or anything of any kindness. Maybe we should assess whats important in life instead of constantly judging people. As for the racial comments..I don't even feel the need to defend those. I'm a "Negro" lol and a musician and my degree in music along with my masters in audio engineering proves that. Go outside of you houses, get away from your computers for a minute to realize the country we live in and accept it's diversity. Yea, "I have freedom of speech" so I guess i'll use it to racially comment and judge a world I have NO CLUE about. Get lives people..get prayer. Might make you less bitter. (By the way I don't know who these people are either, I just feel the need to play devil's advocate toward the judgmental).
Oh, and I do realize this will probably just make people even more pissed and that it won't really make a difference..It's a sad world we live in. My prayers go out to them and their families..whoever they are lol
