Chris Brown Charged With Two Felonies

Chris Brown has been charged with two felonies, including assault likely to cause bodily injury and making criminal threats, by the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office, according to reports. The 19-year-old singer is expected to appear in court later today (March 5).

Brown was arrested and booked on Feb. 8, following an alleged physical altercation with girlfriend and pop diva Rihanna. The singer left the scene of fight, which reportedly left Rihanna with bruises and bite marks on her body, contusions on her forehead and a swollen lip. Brown was booked under the felony charge of making criminal threats and released on $50,000 bail.

While police officials never revealed the name of the alleged victim, TMZ.com posted the court documents that list Robyn Fenty (Rihanna) as the victim. The couple were recently spotted together at one of Sean "Diddy" Combs' Miami homes and are reportedly reconciling.

If convicted, Brown could face a maximum of four years and eight months in prison.

As much as I fully understand everyone’s care and concern for Rihanna, none of us can hold her hand & walk her thru this ordeal. She has to walk this path alone, and sometimes people need to learn the hard way in order to understand for themselves. We also have to understand that we are not all strong individuals who have the ability to walk away from certain situations. And although many of you may think that she doesn’t love him, or that he doesn’t love her, they do love each other. Yes, I know that love isn’t suppose to hurt, but love also rears its head in many different degrees. And unless you, yourself has suffered at the hands of an abuser, you will NEVER be able to comprehend what the abuser is thinking or what they are feeling at the time the act is committed. Neither can you fathom what the victim is going thru or why they chose to either stay or leave and go back. We can all sit around and say “if it were me” or “he could never do that to me”, but until you walk in another man’s shoes you will never feel the pinch, so don’t be so quick to pass judgement.

None of us were put here to judge Rihanna & Chris. None of us can live Rihanna’s life for her or tell her what to do. Rihanna is an adult. It took both Tina Turner & Whitney Houston YEARS before they had the strength to came up out of their abusive relationships & I am sure that many people gave them the very same advice that Rihanna is now getting. But you know what? When all is said and done, with all the advice they got, they had to know for themselves when the time was right to pull out. Lucky for them they came away with their lives & careers still in tact. I think Rihanna is a beautiful, talented, sweet young lady. My daughter adores her. I like Chris too, & although I hate what he did to Rihanna, I don’t necessarily mean that I hate him, just the act of violence which suggest to me that he needs help, because I am thinking that when a 19 year old who should be enjoying his teenage years has that much anger in him to brutally beat another human being, something has to be wrong. Something just isn’t right. No man has the right to abuse any woman – verbally, mentally or physically, & despite what the public thinks or says, I strongly think that he is sorry NOW!! But that doesn’t mean that he won’t do it again, unfortunately. An abuser always says that he’s sorry, but the next time is always a little worse, and then he stops being sorry & he’s just mean, and aggressive & cruel.

As a parent, if he were to hurt my baby like that, I can’t even say at this stage what I would do. But I would try to focus on helping her and maybe explain the danger in her staying with her abuser and why there should be some distance between them until he gets the help that he needs. But at the end of the day, all I can do is to offer her advice but the decision is solely up to her if she chose to continue in the volatile relationship that may someday kill her. All I can do is prayer and hope that the Lord brings her thru it safely. Chris needs plenty of help. This has to be HIS primary focus as well. And both he and Rihanna need some space to deal with themselves and all this public negativity. They both need to take a step back and look at their lives and ask themselves if this incident is what they want to be remembered for each time their name are uttered from someone’s lips. Right now, all we can do is to say a prayer for them & let’s hope that no time we ever end up singing Michael Jackson’s “Gone to Soon” for either of them, because some time women to react & Chris could find himself on the receiving end of the same abuse that he so angrily dished out on Rihanna.

you know they always say that when a man cheats, its alright, but when the woman finds out and confronts him about it, they can't take it and wants to get revenge, so let him get what he deserves.

PS you let a man find out his woman is cheating they can't take it.

This is a terrible situation. This brotha needs some help. Both of these kids have some growing up to do and neither of them truly understands what love is. I wish the best for both of them; however, I believe if they stay together this will happen again.

I feel no man or woman has a right to hit period. The best thing is to walk away. Do not get into each other
face. It is not worth it. I feel for both people, but
Chris Brown is wrong. My Mother went though that problem. He needs help, he deserves what ever they give him. If he doesn't go to prison, which he should serve a little time, and get help.
