Nineties singer Al B. Sure's son with former model Kim Porter is airing his dirty laundry on the 'net via a letter, which is accompanied by an emotional song. Quincy Brown, who was raised alongside Sean "Diddy" Combs children, grew up in the limelight due to his mother's longtime relationship with the entertainment mogul, but now the 17-year-old is speaking out about his biological father's absence. "I grew up without my father, an irreplaceable force and influence that was absent in my life. I watched other kids enjoy the embrace of theirs, and I searched for a way to reconcile the meaning of my circumstance," Brown writes in the letter.
The teen goes on to confess his pain and frustration, but reveals that Combs has been a great father figure. "Sean Combs is the person whom I look up to and appreciate as a father. He is the one who help mold me into the person I am today and will always try to live up to his expectations. He has always been supportive of me and I will forever love and respect him."
Diddy showed his love for Brown aka iQ and pulled out all the stops for the teen when he turned 16 almost two years ago. MTV chronicled Brown's lavish "Stunna 16" for the network's 'My Super Sweet Sixteen' series. Al B. Sure reportedly failed to appear at his son's birthday party.

Wow, this is deep....and private. Should have been a closed letter to his father. Not an open letter for all to see. That's just not cool.

I think it sad 2 that this young man felt the need 2 go public w/a private matter. However, he knows best what type of man his father is, so maybe a public out cry is what he felt his dad needed. Both parties R able bodied people, who both have the means to connect with each physcially, N an attempt 2 talk out their issues. So why has his father not made the attempt or has he? I think it’s more the father’s responsibility 2 step up 2 the plate & make that happen. No child should have 2 go 2 that extreme to get a parent’s attention. Again, we don’t know the real issue about why Mr. Sure has not made himself available 2 his own child, according to the sentiment expressed in the letter. Even though Puffy never married the boys mother, (trifling!) he did step up & treat the young man as if he were his own flesh and blood (honorable!) & no matter what Puff can give this young man, it should teach all absent (cowards) fathers that money is not enough. This boy lived in luxury but still longed for TIME with his own father. Money is important in the upbringing of a child, but it’s not always the most important. Material possessions although nice, are not the end all, be all. Children neglected by a parent are longing for TIME & a relationship. Memories of the times spent w/any loved one, lasts far longer than money & material possessions. Men who choose not to spend TIME w/their children are idiots (I am being nice). TIME is free & most valuable 2 your offspring. For an example, an hour spent w/your child after school each day is precious. My dad left work at 5 p .m. and by 5:10, he was at our home (small town), visiting for 30 minutes 2 an hour (if not more). He talked to us about being respectful women. He talked to us about how a man should treat a woman. My father spent time TALKing to us (building a relationship), which took TIME with his children building memories. Time we appreciate to this day! That man did not have a lot of money 2 give. At best, we got $2.50 each (in the 80s) as an allowance. That was it. He never even brought us clothes or gave us any extras (tad bit selfish so thank U God for mommas!) but he gave us TIME! I have memories to last me for my lifetime because of that. Sounds like this young man wants the same from his FATHER & if nothing else, that is what he deserves after all.

young kids are idiots, what can I say, it is all about them when their that age, he has the right to be mad at the world because his father was not in his life, but he still grew up in a loving household so try and grow up.

Neither was his father very cool. Parents need to earn a childs respect, not just expect it. This father deserved the letter and more disrespect then just an open letter. What a shit father he is! At least his son had a male to look up too. His father should be thanking the man who helped his son to become a man.

THIS is the b*llsh*t that keeps celebrities celebrated. Going public with all their hooey. There is probably a 90% chance this punk will do the same when he begins breeding his ilk. Then we will all be subjected to a whole new litter's generation of 'letters to my father'.

i think it was great of hom to publicly post this, i myself have had the same situation. i still to this day have not spoken to my father in over 15 years, and worship the ground my stepfather walks on. cause of him i am the man i need to be today. maybe his letter will reach his dead beat dad and others to let them realize that they need to wake up and take responsibility.
tdivadeeat 4-15-2009
I am glad Combs showed him love. Kids need both parents. I care about my sons father because he
cares about our son and is supportive of me. I hope that this child will be fine and show his dad what a real man does by being successful.

I personally feel that this letter is something that should have been kept between a father and his son. I am sure that the child is hurting, but there are better ways to go about doing this. There are so many children in the world that don't have a father in their life, but they aren't making it public knowledge for the world to see. Please don't get me wrong because I feel that Al. B. Sure is wrong for not being a part of this childs life. I wonder what his excuse is....hummmm. There is no excuse for child abandonement...except for death and we all know that he isn't dead. On another note...Kim Porter, the gold digger that I feel she is was after money from the start..dating certain people that could pretty much take care of her..and having children with these men helped too...except for AL.B..Sean Combs has even more of my repect for stepping up to the plate for this child, but isn't that what a man is supposed to do? I'll keep this child in my prayers, because so many young men go the wrong route as a result of not having a male role model...Al. B. where the heck are you dude?
VELENCB!!!!!!!!!at 4-19-2009
This is very real in America in how children in general cry out and say "my absent parent hurt me by not been there". It is just this child parents having to be celebrities. Many times children deal with things in a different ways and this is his way of dealing with his hurt from his father not been there. Just think about all the children that don't have No Celebrity Parents, they don't mind telling anyone "my daddy wasn't their. This child just wanted his Fathers' Love, but received it from another male figure in life which happens to be Piddy.

Some of you idiots just want to try and say something shocking for attention, screw the fact he is a child hurting because some loser over the computer wants to spew what they think is comedy. For each one of you who cannot understand or atleast show empathy, I don't know who raised you but they did a TERRIBLE job. Now go to hell.

It's sad his Dad, like hundreds of others, wasn't there for him. In choosing to go public, he is just looking for a grab at some fame. Like other kids his age, he thinks he is entitled to some. He is entitled to attention from his father, but he's really not interested. He's looking for some $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
