Hip-hop crooner Nate Dogg will no longer face criminal charges for allegedly stalking and threatening his ex-wife. According to reports, prosecutors dismissed the case Wednesday after the victim in question failed to keep in contact with the District Attorney's office. The charges stemmed from an arrest last year in which the Long Beach, Calif. native, born Nathaniel Dwayne Hale, was apprehended on and plead not guilty to stalking charges. According to his estranged wife, Hale sent her threatening emails, and chased her on a Southern California freeway. Following his arrest, Hale was also charged with driving with a suspended license stemming from a previous DUI conviction.
Leading up to his July 2008 court date Hales suffered the first of two strokes that left him temporarily wheelchair bound and breathing with the assistance of a tube. The 38-year-old is said to be recovering from his health problems, which also contributed to the court's decision to throw out the case.
Known for his distinctive sound, Hale became most popular for singing hooks for hip-hop artists like Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Tupac Shakur and 50 Cent. His last solo album was released in 2003.
