Jay-Z Says Music Promotes Racial Unity

Jay-Z hasn't been hands on with any social networking websites like some of his industry counterparts, so it was surprising to see the Brooklyn-MC blogging about his experience performing alongside Kelly Clarkson and Third Eye Blind at the University of Arizona last week. Jay admitted the lineup was an unusual genre mash-up, but exciting.

"I thought that had to be the oddest pairing ever, but soon realized it's what I've always professed. There's NO such thing as Black music or White music only Good or Bad music," Hova wrote.

The MC is no stranger to stepping out of th box and blurring lines. Jay teamed with rap-rockers Linkin Park in 2004 and released the DVD/CD 'Collision Course.' The project produced the hit 'Numb/Encore.' The rap star went on to executive produce the debut album from Linkin Park guitarist Mike Shinoda's side project Fort Minor. Jay also ruffled feather when he was announced as the headliner for the 2008 Glastonbury Festival, an event known for featuring rock acts.

Jay-z also professed that he'd like to see more diverse concerts in the future. "I'm putting that into the universe. Next up [is a show with] Taylor Swift and Uncle Murda."

In related Jigga news, the rappers upcoming 11th studio album 'Blueprint 3' is tentatively scheduled for a September release.
