Conscious rap hero Talib Kweli and DJ Eque were married Saturday (May 9) at a private residence in Bel Air, California. The intimate ceremony was attended by guests like Queen Latifah, ?uestlove, Adam Rodriguez (of 'CSI') and other friends and family. The two have been together for years, and rumored to have been engaged since 2007.
While most will be familiar with Kweli's work from his solo hit 'Get By' and group projects like Black Star with rapper/actor Mos Def and Reflection Eternal with producer Hi-Tek, Eque has an equally rich history in the rap world.
The Texas-born DJ began spinning local parties with Houston's legendary DJ Screw, before moving to LA, where she partnered with The Lady of Rage for a top rated radio show and DJ'd for the "Soul Assassin Show." She has toured with artists from Beyonce and Usher to Missy Elliott and Redman and was a co-host of BET's Comic View.
Kweli's long awaited second album with Hi-Tek is in coming soon.
