In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, De La Soul's Posdnuos discussed the legendary group's new album and upcoming collaboration with Damon Albarn and the Gorillaz. Though he didn't reveal the album's title, Pos said the followup to their 2004 album, 'The Grind Date,' will feature Public Enemy's Chuck D and Flavor Flav on a song entitled "We Are (For the People)."
"We have several tracks that are coming together incredibly," Pos said. The album will also likely feature an appearance by Damon Albarn, of Gorillaz and Blur fame, according to Pos. Albarn last collaborated with De La (well, Dave mostly) on the 2005 dance hit "Feel Good Inc." from the Gorillaz multi-platinum album 'Demon Days.'
De La will also appear on two songs on the upcoming Gorillaz album, purportedly titled 'Plastic Beach.'
"From what we've heard, it sounds amazing," Pos said. "To me, quite honestly, it sounds better than the last album."
De La Soul's 10-track Nike Running mix 'Are You In' came out last month. Check it out.
