According to TMZ, singer, and rapper Nas' soon-to-be ex-wife, Kelis claims she is flat broke and needs her hubby to cough up some funds. "I have run out of money," the pregnant singer claims. Kelis recently filed legal papers requesting Nas pay spousal support, child support and pregnancy-related expenses, including her medical bills.
The 'Milkshake' singer wants $3,500 for a baby nurse after the child's birth, and $20,000 baby supplies, including a stroller, crib, etc.
"My survival is based on [Nas'] will at this time. If he does not want to pay for an expense, it does not get paid," Kelis said.
The singer filed for divorce from her rap star husband in April. The couple began dating in 2003 and wed in a private ceremony in 2005.
Kelis is due to give birth to the couple's first child together any day now.

well not surprise that their marriage ended in divorce. Then what make matters worse kelis is pregant with nas baby. So he is not getting out quickly cause child support will get him.

WHy did she file for divorce, and why did she do it when she knew she was pregnant. Y don't these women think there kids dont need a father in the home with them. ANd y does she need a baby nurse, she aint got nothing to do but be a mother to her child, that should be her number one priority. ANd what the hell she need 20000 dollars for baby stuff for, I just had a baby and i didnt buy anything that totaled 20 grand. The reason she filed for divorce was because she discovered Nas was having an affair, she wrote so on her Twitter page. Why should she stay with a man who cheats, just because someone is having a baby does not mean they should stay together! I agree with how she doesnt neeed a baby nurse. Seems to me she still wants to stay in the fast life, she should have thought about that before she squandered her money away!

she wants to do it on her own because nas is a man whore dont you get it ?she is going through with the divorce because he is a slime ball and a womanizer and she doesn't want her child to be in the middle of a lie which would happen if she stayed with that jerk and pretended to love the man after what he put her through.i too believe that a child needs their dad in the home, however nas's behavior is unacceptable and it would not be fair to the child at all if thoes two stay together and pretend to love eachother when they really don't that would only hurt the child in the long run. as long as nas is in the child's life somehow the child will be ok.

I believe that a child does need a father. HOWEVER, just because you have a child with someone doesnt mean that you have to be with them. A child can sense that mommy and daddy aren't happy together. They may even grow up thinking that mommy and daddy stayed together and was miserable because of me. Sometimes its better off to just call it quits.Hopefully the parent that doesnt live with the child, will step up and do the right thing.And yeah the nurse thing is a bit much. Thats not necessary!

They were married, you idiot! They both got pregnant, not just the mother. He is responsible as much as she is and he has money. It takes two to get pregnant, and it takes two to get divorced. Who knows what happened to cause the divorce? If she has trouble getting money from him for support, then she should ask for whatever she can get so she doesn't have to keep coming to him begging for cash each time she needs it. That baby has a father, and he is responsible for half the child's expenses and spousal support. The burdon should not be placed on the system for a child of a person who has money, and that man has enough money to support that child.

i think your comment is quite ignorant. you don't know this woman and neither do i. this woman probably got laid up with this man because of low self esteem or prhaps she didn't know what she was in for and thought he was a good guy and later on found out the opposite was true. whichever the truth may be it is not right to badmouth a childs mother.
however i do agree that 20 grand is too much for some baby gear and if this woman has a loving and supportive family then she should ask them to help her take care of the baby not a baby nurse.
