Kelly Rowland Wants to Adopt

Apparently, singer Kelly Rowland's biological clock is ticking. In an interview with the London Paper, the 28-year-old revealed that she's tired of waiting for Mr. Right and is ready to build a family via adoption.

"I've always known I would adopt in a heartbeat but I don't want a baby. I want to get a child that's five, six, or even 10," the former Destiny's Child member said in an interview.

Rowland went on to explain why she'd like to provide a home for an older child rather than an infant and credits her previous charity work. "I was doing Home for Holidays which is a charitable holiday program for kids in the States, and some of the statistics means that older children don't get adopted as much. I'd love to make a child feel that they're worth it because every child is worth it."

The singer also revealed that she may go the Angelina Jolie route and adopt more than one child. "I don't want that many children, but I want a family of five, including adopted children. That's still a lot, but I think it would be worth it."

In other news, Rowland is currently the co-host of the Bravo TV reality show The Fashion Show and is working on her third album.

I think that Kelly REALLY need to think adoption of a older child (or any child) through. She will become a single mother. The person who she has a relationsip with will also have to consider her child or children. Also, the emotional, financial and mental energy it takes to exert on a child. The fact that when things get hard that she cannot just send the child back without harming his or her feelings. I'm saying all of this because I have three biological and when someone gets sick, or private school expenses hardens, or if an appendix darn near bursts, if someone gets rebellious(teens), you have to be really tough to want to see that child have the best life possible. Then with the older child, what are their past issues, do they have any emotional or chemical imbalances? Any generational health issues that aren't known?
I think that adoption is great, but is only for somone who is looking only to give and not recieve intentionally. Just my thoughts from a mom...

Ironically,my daughter came into my life on 06.20.1997, exactly 12 years ago today.At the time she was a ward of the State and I was only supposed to keep her for 6 weeks. My initial response when they called me to take her was No!. Listening to other people's comments about how difficult it would be to take such an old child, almost caused me to refuse the most important person in my life today. I shudder to think about that. I have never regretted my decision to adopt my beautiful daughter. It was simply the thing to do. I say to Kelly go for it. you are already blessed for even thinking of it.

I like Kelly Rowland, I think of all of the DC girls she's one of my fave beside Beyonce. She's a really cool person. I met her at an airport once and she was the nicest person ever.
