Drake is explaining just what a slew of pre-teenage girls were doing littering the stage during his recent BET Awards performance. The 22-year-old stated that the girls were Lil Wayne's daughter Reginae and her friends. Drake also understands why his performance of 'Best I Ever Had' and Young Money's 'Every Girl' and 'Always Strapped,' was deemed inappropriate by some viewers.

"To be honest [that] was a terrible idea that I'll never do to myself again. I was being pressed from different areas to perform, and I think what really happened at the BET Awards is with the passing of [Michael Jackson] the climate really changed, as far as the award show goes," Drake explained.

"I don't think it called for us to perform 'Every Girl' and 'Always Strapped,' and I think it was an award show filled with tributes music and these genuine heartfelt speeches. And to sort of climax out of a very tongue-in-cheek point, and then people misconstruing Wayne's daughters and her friend coming out on stage....it was just timed very poorly.


"It definitely wasn't planned like that, but with that being said, it is what is. I believe in Wayne and myself and it's nothing we can't bounce back from. To anyone who was offended, my personal apologies, it wasn't intended to offend anybody."

The actor-turned-rapper is currently in negotiations to sign his record deal. Although he has not officially stated how much the deal will be worth, or with what label he will sign with, he is expected to confirm the news soon. Despite being unsigned, Drake is undoubtedly the most buzzed about artist of the year. He recently released the video for his single 'Best I Ever Had' and will release his debut album later this year.
