Rapper C-Murder faces life in prison for the murder of 16-year-old fan Steve Thomas in a New Orleans nightclub seven years ago. Just three weeks before his re-trial for the murder, a fellow prisoner, and friend of C-Murder's (aka Corey Miller) has confessed to the Thomas slaying. The prisoner, Juan Flowers, is serving a life sentence for an unrelated 2007 murder. Though he never before came forward, he now admits to firing the shots which fatally wounded the 16-year old. He also claims that he and Miller are somehow "not responsible" for the murder.
Flowers' confession directly contradicts previous testimony given by another of Miller's friends, Dwayne "Wango" Cobbins, who claimed under oath that on the night in question, he'd seen Miller hide a small gun in his boot before entering the nightclub. However, Cobbins stated that he couldn't see who shot Thomas, due to a melee that occurred just before the shooting. Cobbins is currently serving nine years for threatening a witness in Miller's case.
A judge is currently reviewing Flowers' confession to decide its validity. If deemed necessary, he will be moved to Georgia to testify in Miller's case.
Miller is currently serving a 10-year sentence for an unrelated second-degree murder, after having been caught on camera while attempting to shoot a club owner and bouncer.
What a mess.

Why does rap music seem to be surrounded by a certain street Mafia life-style? There's always going to be a better lyricist. I don't get it! "Let's get him, 'cause he sold more top hits than me"!! It's always a competition about who's better, who has sexier women, who's driving a better ride, who has the better kush et cetera It's nonsense guys! Just write your best raps, spend time in the studio and hope followers buy your album. Why the violence and gang mentality? You either have the talent or you don't.

it isnt about music. the industry itself is scandelous. i say rappers shouldn't allow themselves to be pimped out like britney spears. don't give in rappers.

It makes no sense!

you gotta remember that the music is a very small part of most fallouts among people. They are not going after someone because they sold more records, the reason is probably far more personal. For example, dissing someone's reputation.
Jenniferat 7-17-2009
Neo,
Dissing another rapper for his reputation warrants gunshots and murders? If we all popped everyone that dissed us, wouldn't be much of the population left. Perhaps there is a need for rapper's with a better message, that doesn't point fingers at specific people???? Doesn't the round-n-round, "he said, she said" rap get old after so long? It seems rap has been spitting the same lyrics, just recycled with different beats and voices anyway. Is it really worth going to jail for? It's a waste of good life and the one shot at prosperity.
