Kelis will have to postpone her scheduled hearing to argue with Nas over child support and prenatal expenses because she's currently in labor. The 'Milkshake' singer was scheduled to appear in court today but, according to TMZ, she's busy giving birth to her first child with her soon-to-be-ex husband Nas. While we can't confirm if Nas is by her side, we do know the rapper has refused to cough up money to cover expenses related to the birth of their bundle of joy. The singer claims her rapper hubby has left her "high and dry" and Nas insists Kelis thinks he's worth much more than he actually banks. In any case ... Congrats!

I know that there is alot of drama going on between Kelis and Nas, but I hope they realize that this baby being brought into this world is going to need both it's parents. I pray they put aside their differences and see the big picture.

The issue is not whether the child is consistently in the presence of two loving parents (although that would be best), the issue is the problematic belief that many women have that marriage is like the lottery. Hook a man and have him take care of you for as long as you want him to. Nas has an issue with Kellis expecting to make 20k per month but spend 80k per month as if they were still a couple (like before this child's birth). She speaks of the "during the marriage" gifts of watches, and jewelry and states they are proof of her continuing "need" to still receive their financial equivilent post divorce. Most women believe that "child support" is actually "Mommy support" with the child just being a financial asset like a a stock or building.

Did you read my first post? NAS makes 147k per mth, Kellis makes 20k per month. Kellis wants 80k per month to take the new baby and leave. NAS says he can't pay that much. While married Kellis admitted to making 20k and spending nearly 80k per month. NAS will be responsible for his child's welfare, not her's. Plus her first child is not his, nor did he adopt it, it is on her and that baby's father.
