Nelly and Ashanti Call it Quits

Nelly and Ashanti have reportedly ended their five-year relationship, despite only going public with the news they were an item this past November. In March, Ashanti said that a wedding was "absolutely in the cards." However, the New York Daily News claims that hip-hop couple has split due to Nelly's trepidation about getting hitched. The St. Lunatics rapper has since been seen around town with music video pinup Jessica aka Miss Rabbit, and has recently been linked to another video girl, Melyssa Ford, while Ashanti is said to be taking the breakup a little harder.

"Ashanti is really broken up over losing [Nelly]," an insider said. "But her friends and family are helping her get through it."

On the bright side, Ashanti is said to be using her music to help overcome her sorrow over the split. "Now she may even be able to release an album before year's end," the tipster noted.
