Who says hipsters and multimillionaires don't mix? Jay-Z and Beyonce were spotted this weekend breaking two well-known stereotypes: that the rich and famous don't do outside concerts and rappers (and glammed out divas) don't like indie rock. The pair drank white wine out of plastic cups and rocked out as Grizzly Bear wrapped up this year's JellyNYC Pool Party series at Brooklyn's East River State Park in New York on Sunday.
Brooklyn was certainly representing with Hova swaying back and forth to the hometown band's typically folky/trippy set after an introduction by Senator Charles "Chuck" Schumer. The first senator from Brooklyn in 150 years, Schumer promised to fight to keep free concerts in city parks like East River State Park, located in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn. Schumer also assured the crowd that legislatures would pass a "good healthcare bill."
