Jay-Z sat down with entertainment journalist Toure for an exclusive interview to promote his upcoming "Answer the Call" concert on Sept. 11 at New York's Madison Square Garden. The concert will air live on Fuse at 9PM. The hip-hop icon was moved to put on this charity show for the New York Police and Fire Widows' and Children's Benefit Fund because, like so many, he remembers where he was when the Twin Towers fell eight years ago."September 10, 2001, I was in Los Angeles shooting the video for 'Girls, Girls, Girls' and my album [the original 'Blueprint'] was gonna come out the next day," Jay-Z said at a press conference earlier this week. "I got a phone call and a friend of mine said, "Turn the TV on." I saw the World Trade Center on fire and it looked like a movie to me... I saw footage of these heroic actions -- people running into buildings and saving each other. It showed the strength of New York."
Jay sat down with Fuse and Toure to discuss his passion for making music and admitted to being inspired by uninspiring music.
