Right Wing talk-show host Bill O'Reilly received a surprising gift recently, when fellow conservative commentator Glenn Beck appeared on his show The O'Reilly Factor, and blessed him with a copy of O'Reilly's book, 'A Bold Fresh Piece of Humanity,' personally inscribed by Jiggaman himself.
The inscription read "Peace Bill, JZ. Off That."
O'Reilly has been a longtime opponent of rap; he was largely responsible for getting good-guy rapper Ludacris dropped by Pepsi, and has chastised Jay in the past for "being racial" while celebrating Barack Obama's presidency on Young Jeezy's 'My President is Black.'
After receiving the book, O'Reilly launched into a routine with Beck, who once referred to President Obama as a "racist," questioning Jay-Z's intentions, and feigning ignorance as to the meaning of 'Off That,' an obvious reference to a song on Jay's 'The Blueprint 3,' where the rapper says "This ain't black verse white, my n---- we off that/Please tell Bill O'Reilly to fall back/Tell Rush Limbaugh to get off my balls/This is 2010 not 1864."
"I freely admit I have no idea what they're saying," joked O'Reilly. "What are we supposed to think of this guy who does this racial rap at the inauguration, and then holds a benefit concert? Is he a good guy or what?"
The two right wing pundits then further discussed their views on race in America in 2009. "I'm tired of the race thing, I dont think the race thing works anymore. There are racists..." began Beck."It works in the hip hop community," O'Reilly offered, and was dismissed by Beck, who scoffed "Yeah, whatever."
It's kind of amazing to watch television people discuss racism so glibly, as if suddenly such issues are irrelevant. To quote Glenn Beck, "Yeah, whatever."

The hip hop community appears to feed off racial issues and violence. In their music, they offend women, their community, and promote violence. It would be nice to see these supposed "musicians" attempt to educate the children listening to their "music" with lyrics that promote peace and non-violence. If they wish for there to be a change--it needs to begin with them and their "music" The only role-model these rappers are---are role-models of what children should not want to grow up and become. While they are driving around in their "Benz" some child is listening to their music thinking killing someone or abusing women or using drugs (smokin' their blunts) is a life to admire. Such a shame. It appears the downfall of the Black community will no longer be the fault of the white man--but the black man who promotes violence and disrespect within his own race. Thank you rappers, for getting the blame off my shoulders and putting it on your own.

I could not agree more. I was brought up to love music. My dad was a jazz enthusiast and he taught me to love all forms of music. I do not appreciate rap for the same reasons. It exploits women, talks about violence and killing and I feel the same way in that it takes away not adds to the afro-american race.

Well said! I'm done listening to everyone whine about how dificult their life is because of discrimination when in reality, all races are discriminated against - not just blacks. The difference is that other races aren't constantly using it to gain a competitive advantage in their lives.

It is very funny to think that black people could survive being sold into slavery by there own people, then survive the transatlantic journey where millions perished. Survive the brutality of slavery and Jim Crow laws but rap music is going to be the thing we can't overcome. Very silly. If you had any blame on your shoulders rappers didnt put it there or take it away. You alone have that responsibility. Remember that behind every JZ and Kanye is a record label who more than likely is owned by some white dude or dudes or a board of mutli ethnic dudes who are making money out the whazoo off their gangsta rap slaves. In terms of the "racial issue" that you say rap music feeds off of, rapper are merely presenting some of their experiences dealing with these issues not asking for a hand out. Why would they need a handout when your children have already made them millionaires? To the question of where would rappers be if there was no racism to exploit? The answer is in a better place because a world without racism is exactly that wouldn't you agree.

You have no clue about the history of rap. When rap started it was uplifting and political. The white run music industry did not want that information going out to the youth so they stopped giving record deals to rappers that talked about such subjects. Don't get mad because they talk about what actually goes on in the inner cities. It is true and relevant and we now have a bunch of white kids running around trying to act like they understand. they don't understand and neither do you. The fact of the matter is we don't want you to get it. Hip-hop tells a story of a culture of people that should never have made it, but like always, we find a way to turn lemons into lemonade. Why are you so concerned about our music anyways. If you don't listen to it don't comment on it. I know nothing about Taylor Swift and so I say nothing about her or her type of music.

It's easier to wallow in racism of your own making than to go out and work hard to make something of yourself. If JZ didn't have racism to exploit....where would he be? Any self respecting person of color is going to denounce this sort of 'rap music'. Should we be surprised when white conservatives find it funny and irrelevant? Yeah whatever. I for one have had it with racism being tossed around as an excuse. My president is black...the racism card is now null and void.

As the world ends the minds of humans deteriorate.Only when it is all over then they might realize there is no more time
Yes Education is the key but what kind of education. Many people with degrees are responsible for destroying all forms of humanity.
As the human mind deteriorates the world decays.
We continue to waste life. This has become an art.
Humans have become numb. There is no feeling no life. This is truly a really sad world

I was raised to judge each person individually on the merits he presented, when I entered the military I entered a world full of racist blacks. Some of my BFs' were black until I observed them around other blacks and we stopped being BFs'. When we were together again and just us and had to depend on each other to watch each others back we were BFs' again, this openned my eyes to real racism against me just because I am white, my fam never had slaves and never were rich, just poor dirt farmers trying to eek out a living in a harsh world. I raised my children to respect other people but also to don't trust blackie.
SpiceMonkeyat 9-16-2009
ooooo! We can stand here all day and watch slimy-assed bigots crawl out from underneath their rocks to spew their racist bile... and they will, because their heroes have been confused by life the way it really is, instead of the way they dream it of being, like 1930 Germany. You're pretty f*cking ignorant when the best you have to offer is to spew some racist crap and then run and hide... and every one of you pathetic shit stains is so sackless even your own spouses don't know the kind of shit you put on these boards because you're afraid of losing your meal ticket if she leaves you.

rap is not music. It is a dumbed down version of music so the coloreds can think they have musical talent. What talent does it take to talk while noise is in the background. talk about beating the hos and killing the cops. What a bunch of losers. We have dumbed down too many things already for the coloreds and they still fail.
