Oakland rapper Del the Funky Homosapien was injured in an accident with an intoxicated driver on Colorado's I-25, according to Denver's 'Westword' music blog. The eccentric Cali MC was traveling from Colorado Springs to Denver, where he and Opio, a member of his crew, Hieroglyphics, were scheduled to perform on September 18, when they were rear-ended by an Escalade allegedly driven by an intoxicated driver.
Del was reportedly sleeping at the time of the accident. Though no one in the vehicle was seriously injured, he and another member of his entourage suffered from whiplash, and the Hiero members were forced to cancel their show at Denver'sLarimer Lounge.
The show has been rescheduled for Nov. 6. Del's forthcoming collaboration album with NJ rapper Tame One, 'Parallel Uni-Verses,' drops on Oct. 13.
