Mariah Carey released her 12th studio album, 'Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel,' on Tuesday (Sept. 29), an LP filled with tales of troubled relationships and heart-break -- which is more or less reminiscent of her past albums -- but for the sake of clarification, Mimi took a minute to mention to MTV that none of the tracks were about her hubby Nick Cannon.

"If they think that, they haven't seen either one of us on an interview," Carey said. "And I doubt that!" Bypassing Mariah's certainty that the public spends their time following the details of her relationship in interviews, she went on to say that the album is simply a compilation of experiences gathered through her life.

"I'm always writing things down," she said. "I've been doing that since I was 6 years old. [In Memoirs], I'm kind of looking at my life and going, 'That was a stupid thing to do. Let me write about it.' I remember this, 'Oh, I wrote about this, let me finish the song.' "

Since it's now clear that none of the songs are about Cannon – what about Eminem? When Carey released the album's first single, "Obsessed," she invoked the wrath of the Detroit rapper, who felt that the song was a direct jab at him, but Mimi made sure to clear up that lingering rumor too.

During a recent interview with Ryan Seacrest, Carey addressed the Detroit rapper's "The Warning," track and confirmed once and for all that none of the songs were about him either. "Anybody who would write a song about somebody and try to say nasty, disgusting things about them eight years later, when they're married, I'm like, I don't think so," she said. "If I write a song, called 'Why Are You So Upset With Me', and people are seeing that person in the song, that's not my problem."
