According to reports, Wu-Tang member RZA is working on a martial arts film. In June, the respected rapper/producer, born Robert Diggs, said he would be making his directorial film debut helming 'The Man With the Iron Fist,' a martial arts film in the same vein as the "chopsocky" flicks that inspired Wu-Tang's many monikers and song titles, from Ghostface Killah to 'Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers).'
The popular film site Slashfilm revealed that the movie will be a collaboration with 'Hostel' director and 'Inglourious Basterds' star Eli Roth. 'The Man With the Iron Fist' allegedly has "the blessing" of Roth's mentor, and fellow chopsocky fan, Quentin Tarantino, whom the RZA worked with on the soundtracks to the 'Kill Bill' films.
RZA recently made an appearance in Judd Apatow's 'Funny People' and scored 'Babylon A.D.' with legendary composer Hans Zimmer. Whether he or Roth will be directing or starring is anybody's guess, but the film sounds promising, and at the very least we know the music will be on point.
