Fat Joe Thanks 50 Cent for the Promo

Fat JoeThe beef between 50 Cent and Fat Joe recently returned to a boiling point. Curtis, after listening to Joey's new record, put his Hollywood skills to use and filmed a fake hospital trip with requisite tears. After revealing the hoax, 50 got to his real point: Fat Joe's new music on 'J.O.S.E. Part II' is so bad that it could conceivably take your life.

Now, after a bit of back-and-forth, Fat Joe is providing some (very sarcastic) thanks for all the publicity.

"I've realized something really: that he's my number one fan and really loves Fat Joe," the rapper told Angie Martinez on Hot 97 yesterday afternoon. "I'm really tuned into that. I really came to that realization that he's my number one fan because I'm a little upset at the label. I felt we could have did way more promotions, but if you didn't know Fat Joe's album was coming out today... I think he said, "Yo, my man Joe needs this little bit of promotion man. He's so much of a formidable opponent, that you know, I gotta keep this guy around..." Nah, thank you, 50 man, major promotions. You really bigged me up."

While the sarcasm is obvious, Joey also makes a pretty strong point. There was really no recognition that he had a record coming out and now everyone knows. That's been the odd aspect of 50 Cent's notoriously vicious beefs for the past few years. He goes at Kanye and Ye completely outsells him. He goes at Rick Ross and the Boss gets so pissed that he makes his best record ever. We can all admit Curtis has some marketing savvy, but maybe he's secretly a sweetheart fanboy, too.
